Athletic Eligibility

Eligibility to Participate in High School Sports

Incoming ninth grade student-athletes must be regularly promoted (not administratively placed) to be eligible to compete in any and all fall sports during their ninth grade year at Forest High School. Once enrolled at the high school, the student must have a 2.0 GPA at each semester grading period in order to continue to play sports or to compete in a spring sport. The 2.0 (minimum) cumulative GPA will determine the student's eligibility for the remainder of their time in high school.

Eligibility to Participate in College Sports

Students who want to participate in Collegiate Athletics should start the certification process early, usually by the end of their SOPHOMORE year. Many college sports are regulated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Association of the Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), organizations that have established rules on eligibility, recruiting, and financial aid. Institutions are classified as Division I, Division II, or Division III based on the size and scope of their athletic programs and whether they provide athletic scholarships. Please see your guidance counselor or coach for specific requirements or visit the NCAA Clearinghouse website at: https://www.ncaaclearinghouse.net or the "Play NAIA" website at http://www.,playnaia.org/.
